Porter Plant currently have a vacancy for a qualified Diesel Mechanic in the Field Service area servicing Northern Victoria. A long-established Plant and Equipment provider, Porter Plant specialise in dry hiring plant and equipment throughout Victoria, Tasmania, New South Wales and Queensland, for more than 30 years.
Ideally the successful applicant will be located in within Wanagratta, Benalla, Shepparton or surrounding areas. You will enjoy a good variety of field service duties conducting servicing, repairs and planned maintenance on light vehicles, trucks, road and earthmoving equipment.
You will apply your high level of technical skill and expertise to carry out these duties in a customer focused manner. You will have a strong drive, motivation and direction to succeed and be able to work in a safety conscious environment.
As the successful candidate you will possess the following skills:
- Be trade qualified with appropriate relevant experience
- Manual HR license (not essential)
- Experience in Field Service (not essential)
- Perform effective fault diagnosis on a variety of equipment
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Possess the capacity and willingness to be "hands on"
- Be experienced in servicing of both passenger and heavy vehicles
- Carry out scheduled maintenance in a timely and effective manner
- Have excellent organizational, communication and reporting skills
- Have good computer skills
- Demonstrate a sound awareness of OH&S management principles
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical and drug screen
